Walking meditation is a form of mindfulness meditation practiced all over the world. At its core, walking meditation is simply bringing your attention to your feet, your body and the ground below you and focusing your mind on what it feels like to walk.

Tips

I found out that 10,000 steps is actually quite a lot and I really have to be mindful and schedule my walks (2 hours) if I want to reach it. It seems like a lot but it’s definitely doable. It was easier for me now that I don’t have a strict working schedule but even with a full-time job, I believe it’s possible to have 10 000 steps per day.

  1. You can break it into two and have morning and evening walks.
  2. Be more mindful: take stairs instead of an elevator, walk instead of taking a bus/tram/metro if the distance is not too far.
  3. You can do some of your everyday activities while taking a walk (e.g. calling a friend or listening to a podcast/audiobook).
